Our basic shotgun chaps are a full length chap for both work and for pleasure riding. B Bar B was established in 1961. We’ve been making chaps for more than 50 years and all chaps are made at our facility in Blackfoot, Idaho.Our chaps are Proudly made in the USA!

In-stock sizes: Our adult chaps are in-stock and ready to ship in sizes Jr, xsmall, small, medium, large, and xlarge.Other sizes may be custom ordered.
Why shotgun chapsThey are a full length pleasure or work chap with a zipper closure. It offers the most warmth and protection from the elements but is also the most restrictive for freedom of movement and has the least air circulation because of its "closed leg" design.Because of the full length zipper closure, there is minimal air circulation and they can be warmer than other chaps in higher temperature conditions.
Size adjustment: The backbelt is laced on in v-braid fashion and can be adjusted 2" larger. The backbelt can be adjusted smaller if extra holes are punched.The front belt is a buckle and strap that is also adjustable more than 2". The thigh size is not adjustable so choose a thigh size large enough to provide some space for comfort.
Available leather: Our inventory of shotgun chaps may consist of some specialty leathers like our buckskin leather, but most are made with a variety of "earthtone" colored leathers in the 4.5 to 6 ounce weight range.The earthtone leathers will vary in color and texture and will range from firmer to softer leather and oil-tan and non-oil tan.
The colors may not be the same exact leather or color as the shotgun chaps shown in the photos. We will list several leather preferences for you to request when ordering your chaps. If you make requests for color, weight, texture, and etc., we will try to accommodate your request but we may be limited by our current inventory of leathers.
Request photos: Photos of the exact chaps that are in-stock may be requested. Email or phone us with your leather preferences and we will email photos of the chaps in our inventory that most closely match your request. That way, you can see exactly what is available. We normally send them within a Order information: When you are looking at the details for any stock chap, please review all the available photos. You will see that there is much helpful information shown by the photos. There will be a photo showing typical earthtone colors, a photo showing the exact dimensions, and a photo showing you how to measure so that you may select the proper size. Stock sizes - Junior, X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, and X-large.
Specifications - basic shotgun with no added options: Leather - 4.5 to 5.5 ounce top grain, basic leather, "earthtone" color. Top yoke - 4.5 to 5.5 ounce top grain chap leather. Side yoke - no side yoke Front belt - 5/8" latigo leather, 6-7 ounce with 40-T buckle. Back belt - adjustable 1.5" doubled & stitched chap leather,
laced on with V-braid. Zipper - 3/4" heavy duty brass zipper, made in USA. Fringe - no fringe, the chaps have a 1" leather flap covering the zipper. Thread - black nylon #135
For additional cost, you may pockets and brands or change conchos. Custom sizes can be made if a standard size won't work for you.
