Our farrier chaps are made from a 5 ounce apron split leather, this leather is often called "mulehide".  The 5 ounce leather is durable with minimal bulk.

We have two in-stock lengths, one is 23.5" and one is 30" in length and they are designed to fit low on the waist.  The nylon belt is adustable to fit almost any sized indiviual and attached with a nylon quick release buckle.  The 23.5" length and large leg patches are adequate to cover the wear area on the majority of farriers while leaving some leather below the knee.  Although we could add extra length, it would only add to the cost of the apron without making the apron function better for most farriers.  We feel that this is the most cost efficient design without sacrificing function. For those that want a longer apron, we have made the 30" length. The person in the photo is wearing the 23.5" apron - he has a 32" inseam.

Each has a spring snap and dee ring closure for easy attachement. 

We have both a "deluxe" and "standard" farrier chap.  The "deluxe" farrier chap has large leg patches to cover the wear areas, steel rings for hanging the rasp, and loops for hanging nippers.  It is also equipped with hoof knife pockets.  Our "standard" farrier chap has the large leg patches and hoof knife pockets without the rasp rings and nipper loops.  You will find our farrier chaps to be a durable product with good value.

We have added farrier chinks to our selection. They are our standard basic chink, 32" length, with the addition of leg patches and hoof knife pockets. They offer the western chink look while also providing a durable farrier chap.
